Solomon Young, ISU’s lone returning starter from last year, is set to have his role change, potentially dramatically. The 6-foot-8 sophomore goes from being the fifth piece to being one of ISU’s constants.
“He’s got more freedom offensively than he did last year,” (Iowa State Coach Steve) Prohm said, “because we’re going to need some more points from him.
“We can’t lose sight of what makes him great. And that’s the grit and that’s the toughness and the on the floor leadership in the way he plays and competes.”
Young shot just a trio of three-point attempts last season. That’s a definite underutilization.
