As the buzzer sounded after the initial 20 minutes of play, was there anyone (outside of certain Ann Arbor residents) believing Michigan had a chance to defeat Villanova? Yes, the score was just a nine point difference at that point, 37-28, with plenty of time for the Wolverines to come back but the prevailing sense was that the Wildcats were primed to explode and the Wolverines would continue struggling for points.

But it certainly was a different style for the Wildcats with just one Villanova trey by the 12:30 mark of the first half and 1-9 shooting from beyond the arc with 7:30 remaining in the first session…
