SECOND ANNUAL ELITE 8 FALL PREVIEW
The 2nd Annual Elite 8 Fall Preview will be held Saturday, September 29th at Monterey Trail High School.
This years participating prospects include the following notable players: Marcus Bagley, Josh Morgan (Long Beach State), Xavion Brown, Kaito Williams (Cal State Eastbay), Justin Nguyen, Jhaylon Martinez, Teiano Hardee, Steven Richardson, DJ Pruit, AJ McGee, Gavin Wilburn, Donjae Lindsey, Devin Small, Ervin Knox, Aaron Murphy(UC Davis), Dathan Satchel, Kendall Munson, Caden Flowers, Jalen Patterson, Eric Alston and Bryce Fitzgerald.
Tip off starts at 10:00 am. Games continue through the day, with the championship game slated for 5:00 pm.

Elite 8 Background
The Elite 8 Fall Preview, is a one day tournament featuring top teams and players from in and around the Sac-Joaquin Section. This AAU sanctioned tournament features some of the top local teams. The Elite 8 Fall Preview is hosted by Monterey Trail HS and will take place on the last Saturday of the September, the 29th, a period in which many players are competing with their high school AAU teams. This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership. While many of the participating members attend the same high school, There is no direct affiliation with any local CIF Sac-Joaquin Section High School and/or bylaws. If you desire a list of schools that individuals attend, please submit a request.

Gavilan College Men’s Basketball: Good day one at the Nor Cal Jamboree for your new look GavilanMBB Rams. A lot of interest in our guys from four-year programs. Knocked off the defending state champs, City College of San Francisco, 52-47. Followed that up with a 68-38 win over Marin.”
After Sunday: “Great effort and energy today from your GavilanMBB Rams. Played two top tier teams back to back. Defeated Allan Hancock 54-50 before falling to Fresno City 55-67. Time to dial in for November 1 and the official ‘18-‘19 season.”

The Gladiators play Consumnes River College!”

John Bynum Jr: “Kyle Brown (Chabot) has scored the ball in a variety of ways against Contra Costa in the second half. The “6-5” freshman has played solid.”
“I like the energy Kolby Charles (Chabot) has played with this morning as he has competed and played hard on both sides of the ball.”
“Jared Small (Fresno) has played well for the Rams early against Antelope Valley slashing and has made a three as well. Good start for the 6-7 sophomore.”
“Deion Ellis (Gavilan) has shown some great passing ability and seems to be a glue guy for the Rams.”
