Thursday, January 23

Jamaree (Palma High) Bouyea led USF with 19 points but USF fell 58-48 to St. Mary’s. Remarkably, Jordan (Folsom High) Ford didn’t make a basket (0-9 overall) or chalk up a single assist for the Moraga-ites.

UC Riverside pummeled Cal Poly 97-64 as Arinze (Bishop O’Dowd/Washington State) Chidom provided 18 points and nine boards. For CP, Junior (Modesto Christian) Ballard totaled 16 points plus seven rebounds.

Souley (Oakland Tech/USF) Boum scorched Rice for 27 points in UTEP’s 72-64 victory.

Malik (Jesuit High) Duffy scored 25 points and Kevin (St. Mary’s/Cal State Monterey Bay) Warren 19 in Chico State’s 85-76 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Wednesday, January 22

UC Davis fell to Cal State Fullerton 78-74 despite freshman point Ezra (Heritage High) Manjon finished with 24 points, five boards and four assists.

Pomona-Pitzer bopped Cal Tech 101-62 as Micah (Lick-Wilmerding) Elan led with 19 points and six assists and freshman teammate Brendan (Gunn High) Mora provided 19 points (8-8 overall shooting, 2-2 from long distance and 1-1 at the foul line)) alongside five rebounds.

In a power pairing down in Visalia, College of the Sequoias turned back Columbia College 82-76. Amil (Moreau Catholic) Fields played extra large for COS via his 25 points, nine boards and five assists, Ryan (Hanford High) Johnson added 20 points plus 11 rebounds and Tiveon (Selma High) Stroud contributed 13 and 11.

Wesley (Enochs High) Burse posted a 21 point, 12 rebound double-double and teammate Michael (West High) Hayes provided 12 points plus 14 boards in a 79-71 Las Positas College overtime victory over Skyline College.

Fresno City College blew out West Hill Lemoore 11o-55 as Ronald (Sheldon High) Agbesar led the way with 22 points.

Luke (Branham High) Sayre was strong with 21 points and 10 rebounds but DeAnza College fell 88-70 to Cabrillo College.

Tuesday, January 21

Iowa State bested Oklahoma State 89-82 powered by 27 points from Solomon (Sacramento High) Young who shot 7-8 from the floor and 13-15 from the foul line. He added nine boards, two assists and two blocked shots.

Damian (Cardinal Newman) Wallace and Edward (Foothill High-Bakersfield) Turner scored 15 points apiece in Santa Rosa Junior College’s 70-58 victory over Cosumnes River College.

Raoul (Castro Valley High) Harley led Diablo Valley College with 17 points as Diablo Valley College downed Modesto Junior College 81-59.

With three players scoring in double figures (Noah (Corning High) Zoppi, Shakwon Lewis and Marquise Nelloms all with 14 apiece), Butte College handled 66-54. A 45-28 second 20 minutes turned the tide.

Braxton (Rodriguez High) Adderly totaled 24 points in the Napa Valley College 83-79 victory versus Solano College. The Storm won the second half 51-35.

Monday, January 20

Robert Morris broke Sacred Heart 67-55 as 6-foot-7 AJ (San Leandro High/Sheridan College) Bramah pummeled SH with 18 points (9-9 shooting) plus 20 boards in 29 minutes of court time.

On Saturday, UC Santa Cruz edged Westcliff 95-93 in double overtime with junior guard Patrick (Mt. Eden High) Ramos providing 28 points, six assists and five boards and freshman teammate Avri (Albany High) Finch totaling 21 points and a team high eight rebounds. Plus, sophomore Ryan (Modesto High) Silva scored 19 points for the Slugs.

On Sunday, Avri (Albany High) Finch played big with 23 points and 13 boards in a 74-64 victory versus Bethesda..


San Francisco City College remains atop the state community college rankings with an 18-0 record (the lone undefeated team). Fresno City College is at #5 followed by Yuba College at #6.
