Thursday, February 6

Souley (Oakland Tech/USF) Boum scored 20 points (7-13, 4-8, 2-2 shooting) in the UTEP 68-64 loss to Charlotte.

Sayeed (El Cerrito High) Pridgett finished with 24 points, eight boards, four assists and two steals as Montana topped Eastern Washington 92-82.

Aided by 19 points, six assists and four rebounds from Jordan (Folsom High) Ford, St. Mary’s bested San Diego 66-60.

Skylar (Drake High/Santa Rosa Junior College) Chavez shot 7-10 overall and finished with 16 points in Pepperdine’s 91-77 success versus Santa Clara.

Paris (Bishop O’Dowd/Boise State) Austin provided 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals but California fell to Colorado 71-65.

De’Jon (Oakland Tech) Davis supplied a 13 point, 10 rebound double double in California Baptist’s 74-69 success against Cal State Bakersfield.

Sacramento State fell 70-66 to Weber State but Josh (Sierra High) Patton just missed a double-double with 16 points and nine boards for the Hornets.

Behind 30 points (7-10 shooting from long distance) from Tyrell (Woodcreek High) Roberts, UC San Diego nabbed an 82-74 road win versus Chico State.

Phoenix (Vanden High) Shackelford’s 15 points aided Cal Poly Pomona’s cause in an 81-67 win over host Humboldt State.

Wednesday, February 5

Cal Poly handled Long Beach State 92-75 as Junior (Modesto Christian) Ballard led the San Luis Obispo crew with 22 points.

Pomona-Pitzer edged Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 81-76 as James (Leland High) Kelbert led the victors with 20 points plus nine boards and teammate Micah (Lick-Wilmerding) Elan totaled 16 points in addition to 10 rebounds.

Host Fresno City College edged College of the Sequoias 81-80 with Keshawn (Burbank High/Cal State East Bay) Brunner pouring in 27 points (10-15 overall shooting, 7-10 from the foul line) as well as grabbing a team high eight boards. Tiveon (Selma High) Stroud led COS with 17 points and added eight rebounds.

Quincy (Clovis West High/San Jose State University) Urbina’s 16 points led CCSF in scoring as the Rams defeated Skyline College 95-55. Colby (Mills High) Vasquez paced SC with 16 points.

Host Foothill College edged Las Positas College 69-66 despite the latter receiving 22 points, 12 boards and five assists from Michael (West High) Hayes.

In Hayward, Chabot College took down Cañada College 80-70 with Jabari (Sacramento High) Sweet putting up 22 points plus 10 rebounds and teammate Skylar (Dublin High) Robinson posting his own 18 point, 16 rebound double-double.

Behind 21 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals from Miguel Velez, Hartnell College handled Gavilan College 76-70.

Kameron Malbrough finished with 28 points, seven assists, five boards and fours steals in the College of Alameda 69-60 defeat of Contra Costa College.

Bobby (Archbishop Riordan) Arenas provided 23 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as host San Mateo College bested Ohlone College 80-70.

Tuesday, February 4

It was another group effort but credit Edward (Foothill High-Bakersfield) Turner and his 17 points and seven rebounds as major factors in Santa Rosa Junior College’s 74-69 victory over host Sacramento City College. Teammate Damian (Cardinal Newman) Wallace also was big with 16 points plus eight assists. SCC was led by Ryan (Laguna Creek High) Reed’s 24 points.

San Joaquin Delta College edged Cosumnes River College 60-58 as Travis (Liberty High) August led with 18 points and teammate Onkar (Elliott High) Sidhu contributed 12 rebounds, 10 points and three assists. Andre (Pleasant Grove High) Huddleston’s 20 points paced CRC.

Micah Elan helped Pomona-Pitzer stake a 109-83 victory over La Verne, and a 75-63 win over Chapman in a 2-0 SCIAC week for the Sagehens. Elan averaged 36 points per game netting 41 in the win against the Leopards and 31 in the win over the Panthers. He shot 61% from the field, 53.3% from three-point land, and 93.3% from the free throw line. He also collected eight boards, dished out seven assists, and recorded a steal during the week.

In 18 games/four starts and 8.3 minutes an outing, 6-foot-2 sophomore guard Logan (St. Francis/Cincinnati) Johnson is averaging 1.7 points per contest while shooting 33%, 27% and 79% respectively. He has 11 assists to eight turnovers. Backcourters Jordan Ford and Tanner Krebs have been Moraga mainstays with fellow guard Tommy Kuhse also appearing in 23 games with 15 starts and averaging 27 minutes of court time. The Gaels need firepower on the court this season which isn’t Johnson’s foremost strength.

6-foot-4 sophomore guard Jake (Bellarmine Prep) Wojcik is averaging 3.6 points alongside 1.9 rebounds while shooting 49%, 41% and 88% respectively. He has participated in 22 games at just under 13 minutes an outing.

In 22 games, three starts and just under 11 minutes a night for Wyoming, 6-foot-3 sophomore guard Greg (Cosumnes Oaks High/Sacramento City College) Milton is averaging 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 34%, 22% and 62% respectively.
