Out of Arizona, 6-foot-2 point Eric Blackwell III has given a verbal to Cal State East Bay.

Richmond fell 90-78 to Alabama but Jake (Bellarmine Prep) Wojcik tallied 17 points on 5-5, 4-4,3-4 shooting, plus five rebounds, for the Spiders.

Jabari (Sacramento High) Sweet’s 20 point and 12 rebound double-double aided Chabot College’s 89-87 edging to Moorpark College. Teammate Izayah (Sacramento High) Talmadge scored but seven points but added 10 boards plus eight assists.

Decaurey (Newark Memorial High) Brown provided 33 points and seven rebouns in the San Jose City College 87-85 loss to Cuesta College. He shot 12-18 overall, 6-11 from three-point range.

Saturday

Behind a 23 point, 10 rebound Arinze (Bishop O’Dowd) Chidom double-double (shooting 9-13 overall, 5-5 from long distance), UC Riverside sent Fresno State down to defeat 60-57.

Montana bested Northern Arizona 79-72 behind 27 points and 10 rebounds from Sayeed (El Cerrito High) Pridgett. Luke (Vista Del Lago High) Avdalovic contributed 13 points to the NAU cause. The latter is a redshirt sophomore who is averaging 11.9 points per game while shooting 51%, 51% and 73%.

Host Montana State took down Sacramento State 66-51 despite the Hornets receiving 18 points, seven boards and four blocked shots from Joshua (Sierra High) Patton.

Cuesta College edged Chabot College 83-78 but Tim (James Logan High) Oldham tallied 21 points and Kyle (Dublin High) Brown 19 for the Hayward-ites.

Mike Ray: “Max Petrenko of Placer High scored 93 points in three 2019 Arnett Tournament games to become 2nd all-time scorer for one tournament.”

The 6-foot-6 Petrenko was named tounrey MVP.

Friday

Ohlone College fell 103-81 to Los Angeles Trade Tech but 6-foot-4 sophomore guard Aidan Graham shined for the former with 29 points, six assists and five rebounds. He shot 13-18, 2-4 and 1-1 respectively
