Saturday, January 18

Jordan (Folsom High) Ford led with 26 points as St. Mary’s bested host Pepperdine 78-69.

Freshman point Ezra (Heritage High) Manjon score 16 points and grabbed six boards as UC Davis took care of Cal State Northridge 66-62.

Xander (Christopher High/Gavilan College) Bowers owned the evening for Arizona Christian University with 15 points, 13 rebounds, four shotblocks, two assists and a pair of steals as the Firestorm handled Hope International 85-67. HIU was led by Josh (Lighthouse Community Charter High/Orange Coast College) Powell-Davis’ 21 points and 13 boards.

Austin (Half Moon Bay High) Hilton provided 19 points, six rebounds and three assists in just 17 minutes of playing time as Linfield College topped Willamette College 111-98.

Tommy (Half Moon Bay High/Fresno City College) Nuno scored 23 points, dished out 11 assists and grabbed seven rebounds in Colorado Mesa’s 105-91 defeat of Fort Lewis.

Isaac (Lowell High) Finestone posted a 22 point, 11 board double-double as Oberlin College bested Hiram College 95-77. He shot 9-14 overall, 4-7 from long distance. Teammate Christian (Menlo-Atherton High) Fioretti played big with 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Redshirt sophomore guard Tyrell (Woodcreek High) Roberts exploded for 33 points (11-18, 7-11, 3-4 shooting) in UC San Diego’s 87-59 defeat of Cal State San Bernardino.

Keshawn (Burbank High/Cal State East Bay) Brunner provided a human highlight film of 37 points as host Fresno City College topped Porterville College in overtime 88-79.

Savion (Hanford High) Johnson filled the stats sheet with 17 points, 11 boards, six assists, three steals and three blocked shots in the College of the Sequoias 77-75 edging of Reedley College.

Friday January 17

Arion Armeniakos: “Huge rivalry win (86-81) for the Chabot Basketball program to go 3-1 in Coast North conference. Skylar Robinson led the Gladiators scoring with 17pts (5-7 FG). Jabari Sweet had 16 (8-9 FG). Las Positas Hawks led by Michael Hayes with 21pts (9-16 FG). Wesley Burse had 19 (8-15 FG).”

Kai (Placer High) Huntsberry filled the stat sheet with 21 points, seven assists, six boards and five steals—all in 25 minutes of playing time—as San Diego City College handled Mira Costa College 91-74.

John (Fremont High-Sunnyvale) Vergara scored 22 points (shooting 7-9, 3-4 and 5-6 shooting respectively) as DeAnza College turned away visiting Gavilan College 73-67.

Terry (Vista Del Lago High) Moody totaled 17 points (shooting 7-8 from the floor) in Sacramento City College’s 70-63 victory over geographical rival Cosumnes River College. Kenneth (Laguna Creek High) Cooley scored 19 points for CRC.

Host Solano College edged Mendocino College 89-85 as Dunnell Stafford led the victors with both 36 points (15-23 overall from the floor) and 10 rebounds. Teammate Jordan (Vacaville High) Adams added 21 points.


On Wednesday“…Senior Micah Elan tallied seven assists and passed Norman Carter on the All-Time Career Assists list to become the new All-Time Leader in Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Basketball history with 378 assists…”

(Coach Chris) Jans on (Terrell) Brown’s breakout performance: “He moved better, he’s starting to go around people with the basketball and when he does that the whole staff starts smiling… He’s certainly playing the way we expected him to play.”

Brown scored 17 points on 5-9, 4-8 and 3-3 shooting last Thursday in a league win over Utah Valley University.
