On Saturday, October 5, Sacramento High School was host to Simply Basketball’s Elite 8 Fall Preview and featured some of the top players in what I like to refer to as “Inland NorCal” or the greater Sacramento Area. The event featured 11 teams from the cities of Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto and Elk Grove in a 1-day bracket play format. Below is a list of the Top Performers, based on my personal evaluations” — Paul Hernandez.

“2021 6’1 Corey Yerger (Grant Union HS): Yerger may have had the performance of the day in his teams 1st game of the tournament. His squad was down by 15+ early before Corey led the comeback pursuit (but falling short) showing off his full offensive arsenal, which was punctuated by a big time put-back dunk. Yerger is one of the top guards in NorCal and his stock is rising. Corey has solid handles, impacts the game on and off the ball, sees the floor well, really good rebounder, uses screens very well and has the ability to take his defender off the dribble and attack the lane or pull up and hit from deep efficiently. Tough minded player that seems to thrive as the game gets more physical. Yerger has just as much of an impact on defense, great in traps, quick hands to rip the ball and turn defense to offense quickly…”
