6-foot-3 sophomore Garrett (Clayton Valley Charter) Pascoe is out for the season at Boston University due to an ankle injury.


On Friday, UC Santa Cruz edged Puget Sound 81-79 as Patrick (Mt. Eden High) Ramos led with 28 points (6-9, 3-3, 13-17 shooting) and freshman Avri (Albany High) Finch produced a 17 point, 13 rebound double-double.

On Sunday, Cal Tech edged the Slugs in double overtime 71-68 as Finch provided 23 points, 10 boards and five steals and Ramos totaled 19 points.

On Monday, Montana Tech pulled a major upset in defeating host Montana 74-72. This despite 14 points, nine boards and six assists from Sayeed (El Cerrito High) Pridgett.

Also on Monday, Sacramento City College handled Solano College 88-74 as Ryan (Laguna Creek High) Reed paced the victors with 28 points and teammate Chris (Burbank High) Gray compiled a 16 point, 10 rebound double-double. For Solano, Dunnell Stafford provided 25 points plus 14 boards.

Ajay (Cupertino High/DeAnza College) Singh scored 20 points in Notre Dame de Namur’s 101-54 loss on Tuesday to Santa Clara.

On Wednesday, Jamaree (Palma High) Bouyea totaled 18 points, eight assists and four steals as USF downed Cal State Bakersfield 100-70. He shot 6-7, 1-1 and 4-5 respectively.

In 40 minutes on Wednesday, Jordan (Folsom High) Ford scored 24 points in leading St. Mary’s to a 68-58 victory over Fresno State.

Sacramento State took down UC Davis 61-51 in a rivalry matchup on Wednesday as Joshua (Sierra High) Patton’s 25 points paced the Hornets. He shot 8-10 overall and 9-9 at the foul line.

Catching Up On…

5-foot-9 sophomore Ross (Bishop O’Dowd) Williams is averaging 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Menlo College thus far this season. He’s shooting 50%, 36% and 86% respectively.

6-foot-3 senior Jeremiah (Serra High) Testa is averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Menlo College in the 2019-20 season. He is shooting 57% overall, 53% from three-point range but inexplicably just 4-11 at the foul line.

6-foot-3 sophomore Kai (Placer High) Huntsberry is attending San Diego City College and currently averaging 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in eight games/starts and 27 minutes per contest. He’s shooting 50%, 48% (7-15) and 63% respectively.


Dublin vs Weston Ranch highlights 13th annual Nor Cal Tip Off Classic

The thirteenth annual Nor Cal Tip-Off Classic will be held Saturday November 30, 2019 at Newark Memorial High School in Newark, CA.

The event is designed to promote/showcase Northern California basketball to college coaches, media/scouts and the general public.

There will be seven games on the day beginning at 11:00 am. (The schedule is below) High-profile programs such as Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland), Moreau Catholic (Hayward), Grant (Sacramento), St. Patrick-St. Vincent (Vallejo), Modesto Christian and Riordan (San Francisco) will be featured. The event will culminate with the marquee matchup at 8:30 pm between Nor Cal powers Dublin and Weston Ranch (Stockton).

Dublin, with a deep and talented squad, is lead by two senior guard Division I prospects, Devon Jackson and Anthony Roy. Weston Ranch is lead by senior Division I-bound wing Gavin Wilburn.

Promising 2020 players with elite potential are center Dischon Jackson of St. Patrick-St. Vincent, the dynamic senior guard tandem from Riordan, Nevada-bound Je’lani Clark and Bryce Monroe (committed to Sam Houston State), 6’11 transfer from Italy- Francesco Borra and Utah-commit Ian Martinez, both of JSerra. Other standouts in 2020 include forward Alesandre Merkvildaze (a member of the Republic of Georgia national team) from Modesto Christian who is headed to Cal State Northridge, guard Jalen Scott of St. Patrick-St. Vincent, wing Monty Bowser of Bishop O’Dowd who has committed to California, Northern Arizona-bound guard Carter Mahaney of Campolindo, forward Devin Tillis of Windward, center Hugo Clarkin (who is headed to San Jose State) and guard Justin Williams, both of JSerra.

High-level class of 2021 prospects are Pepperdine-commit Mike Mitchell and wing Nigel Burris, both of Archbishop Mitty, forward DJ Johnson of Moreau Catholic, guard Cole Anderson of Clovis West and guard Corey Yerger of Grant.

Guard Aidan Mahaney of Campolindo, postman Mor Seck of Riordan, guard Dylan Andrews and USA basketball national team member forward Kijani Wright, both of Windward, are elite prospects in the Class of 2022.

Forward Jalen Lewis of Bishop O’Dowd is a national-level prospect in the class of 2023.

In 2018-2019 Campolindo won the Division II state championship (the only North school to win a title). Modesto Christian was an open division finalist in Nor Cal and Bishop O’Dowd and Moreau Catholic were Nor Cal Division I semi-finalists.
