Sheldon High’s Marcus Bagley has signed with Arizona State.


Kevin Kahriman: “After having a great talk with Coach Cooper, I have decided to continue my education and athletic career at Notre Dame de Namur University! I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and ready to get to work”

Now at Fresno City College, Kahriman is a 6-foot-11, 290 sophomore out of Newark Memorial High and College of Marin.


Verbal Commits: “2020 Golden State Prep (CA) F/C Anton Jansson has committed to Saint Joseph’s.”

From Sweden, he’s 6-foot-11, 225.


Strong Performances

For the second straight game, Joey (Marin Catholic High) Calcaterra scored 21 points, and added five assists as San Diego topped Weber State 71-56 on Thursday. He shot 8-11, 4-6 and 1-1 respectively.

Eddie (Archbishop Riordan) Stansberry led UH with 28 points as host Hawaii topped Portland State 83-75 on Friday.

Jahvon (Clovis North High) Johnson scored 26 points in just 22 minutes in CSU Monterey Bays’ 96-67 romp over visiting Alaska Fairbanks on Friday.

Even 6-foot-1 freshman guard  Jordan Alexander’s 22 point, 12 rebound double-double wasn’t enough as Shasta College bested DeAnza College 65-60 on Friday in the DVC tournament.

Tyrell Alcorn scored 26 points (9-14 overall, 8-13 on threes) and added eight boards as well as seven assists in Dillard University’s 120-93 romp over Huston-Tillotson on Saturday. He leads the Bleu Devils with 17.2 points per game. Alcorn is out of El Cerrito High and Merritt College.

On Saturday, host Fresno City College bopped Foothill College 92-45 as freshman guard Isaiah (Folsom High) Jones led the way with 16 points.

Micah (Lick-Wilmerding) Elan was big with 26 points, six boards and four assists but Pomona Pitzer fell to Westmont College 84-76 on Saturday.

Justin Briggs provided 13 points plus 12 boards in Chico State’s 69-54 homecourt victory Saturday over Holy Names University.


Catching Up On…

In Pepperdine’s first three games, Skylar (Drake High/Santa Rosa Junior College) Chavez is averaging 11.3 points per game and shooting 41%, 39% and 80%. 23 of his 27 shot attempts have come from beyond the arc.

In six games and starts this season at Mayville State (South Dakota), 5-foot-10 Jalen (Elliot Christian High/San Joaquin Delta College) Valverde is averaging 28 minutes, 10.8 points and 4.8 boards, with 15 steals and a 23/6 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is shooting 52%, 30% and 75% respectively.

Tre’shon (Grant High) Smoots is a 6-foot-1 redshirt freshman for Northern Colorado and is averaging 13 minutes a game and 3.3 points, with 11 assists and zero turnovers thus far this season. He is shooting 57% overall, 50% from long distance and has yet to attempt a free throw.

In five games/starts and 23 minutes a contest, junior A.J. (San Leandro High) Bramah is averaging 7.0 points and 8.2 rebounds while shooting 42% overall and 43% at the foul line for D1 Robert Morris University.

Alex (Gunn High/Foothill College) Gil-Fernandez is a junior at Cal State San Marcos and averaging 14.0 points plus 4.6 boards in five games/starts and 23 minutes a contest. He’s shooting 55% overall, hasn’t made a three as yet and is 4-7 from the foul line.
