Behind De’jon (Oakland Tech) Davis’ 23 point, 13 rebound double-double, Cal Baptist defeated UC Riverside 80-70. The 6-foot-7 junior shot 7-10, 2-2 and 7-7.

Santa Rosa Junior College handled Los Medanos College 93-73 thanks in a big part to 36 points from sophomore Skylar (Drake High) Chavez.


San Francisco State (4-1/1-0 CCAA) boasts the top-rated scoring defense in the West Region, allowing just 58.8 points per game, which is also eighth lowest in NCAA Division II. The team’s 35.8 field goal percentage defense is seventh. San Francisco State is averaging 11 steals per game, which is 10th best in the nation.

For 2-5 Richmond, freshman guard Jake (Bellarmine Prep) Wojcik has started all seven games and is averaging 32.1 minutes, 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds alongside 13 assists and a team-high 15 steals. He is shooting 36% overall, 38% from long distance and 89% at the foul line. 42 of his total of 56 shots have been three-point attempts.
