In the 66-60 UC Santa Cruz loss to Colorado College, 6-foot-4 senior Sam (Vacaville High) Gabbard provided 26 points and eight rebounds.

SUNDAY

6-foot-6 senior Andrew (Casa Grande High) Crain filled the stat sheet with 24 points, eight boards and four blocked shots as UC Santa Cruz downed Johnson & Wales 73-69.

Cuesta College bested Foothill College 89-85 with the Owls receiving an explosive 35 point performance from 6-foot-2 sophomore Jamar (Menlo-Atherton High) Gaddis who shot 10-18, 7-14 and 8-10.

City College San Francisco routed Contra Costa College 105-71 with 6-foot-7 freshman forward Walter (Clovis West High) Urbina’s 20 points leading the scoring.

Freshman guard Kai (Placer High) Huntsberry’s 18 points led San Diego City College to an 80-75 success against Cerritos College.

MONDAY

Freshman guard James (Salesian Prep) Akinjo led Georgetown with 19 points in the Hoya 88-78 victory over Liberty University. He shot 6-10, 3-5 and 4-5.

TUESDAY

Breaking out of a season-long shooting slump, JoJo (Newark Memorial High) Zamora tallied 27 points on 9-10, 6-6 and 3-4 shooting in New Mexico State’s 100-65 beatdown of rival New Mexico.

Jordan (Folsom High) Ford shot well again — 23 points on 8-10, 3-5 and 4-6 accuracy — in the St. Mary’s 93-61 obliteration of Bethune-Cookman.


Sophomore guard Jade’ (St. Joseph Notre Dame) Smith has started all seven of Pepperdine’s games and is averaging 9.3 points while shooting 55%, 46% and 69%. He is also grabbing 5.1 rebounds a contest as well as 2.7 assists.


After six games and starts for California, freshman forward Andre (Lincoln High) Kelly is averaging 29 minutes a game, 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds. Kelly is shooting 64% overall shooting, 70% at the foul line and has yet to take a three-pointer.


Also after six games/starts and 34.7 minutes an outing, junior guard Paris (Bishop O’Dowd/Boise State) Austin is averaging 15.0 points alongside a 24/12 assist-to-turnover numbers for California. He is shooting 49% overall, 33% on nine trey attempts and 65% on free throws.


Junior guard Eddie (Archbishop Riordan/City College San Francisco) Stansberry has played in each of Hawaii’s eight games and is averaging 22.5 minutes per night and 11.0 points while shooting 37% overall, 37% on 62 three-point attempts and 5-8 from the charity stripe.
