Thompson is a 6-foot-0, 170 sophomore originally out of Wisconsin.

In a matchup that likely induced carpal tunnel symptoms in the scoreboard operator, host Las Positas College edged DeAnza College 102-99. Freshman Michael (West High) Hayes led the victors with both 38 points and 13 rebounds. Ajay (Cupertino High) Singh continued with his fine season for the Dons with a 36 point outburst. 6-foot-10 Michael (James Logan High/CCSF) Steadman has been a bright star in San Jose State University’s season thus far. The junior is averaging team bests in both scoring (13.4 points) and rebounding (9.2) while shooting 51% and 59%. In 12 games, he has started 11 and is playing 28.8 minutes a contest.
Plus, in Wednesday’s game against Fresno State, Steadman totaled 18 points and 10 boards.
