Thompson is a 6-foot-0, 170 sophomore originally out of Wisconsin.


Jeff Goodman: “Oregon sophomore forward Abu Kigab told @WatchStadium that he will transfer. 6-foot-7 Canadian started four games this season for the Ducks.”

He played at Pacific Prep.

In UC Santa Barbara’s 109-47 beatdown of Bethesda, freshman John (Wood High) Nagle scored 20 points powered by 6-12 long distance shooting.

In a matchup that likely induced carpal tunnel symptoms in the scoreboard operator, host Las Positas College edged DeAnza College 102-99. Freshman Michael (West High) Hayes led the victors with both 38 points and 13 rebounds. Ajay (Cupertino High) Singh continued with his fine season for the Dons with a 36 point outburst. Jade’ (St. Joseph Notre Dame) Smith led Pepperdine with 15 points as the Wave defeated Loyola Marymount 77-62. Smith also supplied eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Terrell (Moreau Catholic/SJSU/CCSF) Brown tallied 22 points but New Mexico State fell 82-76 to Cal Baptist.

Isaiah (Placer High) Pineiro posted a 12 point, 16 rebound double-double in San Diego’s 68-56 loss to Santa Clara.

Christian (Modesto Christian) Ellis finished with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists in SIU Edwardsville’s 94-88 win over SE Missouri State.

American River College edged Sacramento City College 86-83 despite Greg (Cosumnes Oaks High) Milton III scoring 32 points for the latter. Milton tallied 32 points on December 28 against Santa Rosa Junior College.

61% overall shooting aided Sierra College’s 112-91 success against Modesto Junior College.


6-foot-10 Michael (James Logan High/CCSF) Steadman has been a bright star in San Jose State University’s season thus far. The junior is averaging team bests in both scoring (13.4 points) and rebounding (9.2) while shooting 51% and 59%. In 12 games, he has started 11 and is playing 28.8 minutes a contest.

Plus, in Wednesday’s game against Fresno State, Steadman totaled 18 points and 10 boards.
